Dresser-Rand is the authorized global distributor of Ingersoll Rand microturbines to the oil and gas industry.
In November 2005, Dresser-Rand entered into a agreement with Ingersoll Rand Energy Systems to be the authorized global distributor to the oil and gas industry for the Ingersoll Rand microturbine product line. Dresser-Rand will provide the sales and service-support network and all aspects of aftermarket services.
During the past few years, microturbine cogeneration systems have been applied within oil and gas operations to consume diverse off-specification gaseous fuels that would otherwise be flared.
Typical applications:
- Wellhead — associated gas
- Platform power — lights, pumps, ancillary equipment
- Use of by-product gases for fuel
- Use of flare or waste gas as fuel
- Replace low load gas turbines
These applications have provided numerous economic, environmental and production benefits to the end users.
Advantages of microturbine solutions:
- Generation of clean, reliable electricity for a wide variety of uses in both grid-parallel and grid-isolated modes of operation
- Very low emissions, easily meeting regulatory emission limits
- Quiet operation, low vibration
- Few moving parts, low maintenance and long engine life
- Fuel operability diversification
- Production of high-quality cogeneration heat, easily recovered Good system efficiency from a small footprint
